Cottage Health seeks Research Scientist to independently design, conduct and analyze scientific studies to test clinical hypotheses in our Research Expansion Department.
Will plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate all aspects of Cottage Health's trauma level I research program. Cultivate cross-institution research collaborations that capitalize on shared technological strengths and opportunities with Cottage Health and its academic partners. Will also develop and evaluate new trauma concepts, practices and procedures with technical staff, statisticians and healthcare providers utilizing electronic medical records, external data warehouses and large clinical populations.
Education Required: Master's degree in a scientific or technical field.
Preferred: PhD in a scientific or technical field is preferred. Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), Certified Research Coordinator (CRC), or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC).
Experience Required: 5+ years’ experience working in clinical/translational research related to trauma and critical illness. Experienced in manuscript development and utilization of established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data. 3+ years’ experience only if candidate has PhD in scientific or technical field. Must also have experience using MS Office.
Preferred: Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and regulations governing human subjects in research. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the IRB process. Working knowledge of scientific and medical concepts and terminology, and strong familiarity with biomedical research protocols.
