Responsible for completing standard non-invasive vascular exams to include knowledge of appropriate indications for specific vascular exams, knowledge of different diagnostic problems in each case and of normal peripheral vascular anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of basic ultrasound principles pertaining to vascular studies. To recognize and distinguish an adequate from inadequate vascular exam.
Minimum Training and Education: Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular / Vascular ultrasound program /school or the equivalent vascular experience
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
