The Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine invites Ph.D. neuroscientists to apply for multiple faculty positions in both experimental and computational neuroscience. The Department is seeking applications at the assistant professor level, but accomplished mid-career or senior scientists at the level of associate or full professor with strong records of research productivity, grant support and a demonstrated collaborative spirit are also encouraged to apply. Candidate research interests may focus on either basic or disease related neuroscience with special attention given to those applying state-of-the-art computational, imaging, cellular, molecular and/or electrophysiological approaches to decipher basic brain mechanisms. We are particularly interested in recruiting candidates that can lead or effectively collaborate with others employing state of the art computational and machine learning approaches to decipher the brain’s algorithms of perception, learning, memory and cognition. The Neuroscience Department, including primary and affiliated faculty, is a vibrant community with strong ties to Quantitative and Computational Biosciences, Psychiatry, Neurology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery Departments, as well as the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute (NRI). Research centers established within the department are focused on learning and memory, as well as biomedical research on machine learning and neuroscience. Baylor College of Medicine is located at the heart of a dynamic, collaborative research environment within the Texas Medical Center, which contains one of the highest densities of clinical, translational, and basic science research facilities in the world. Applicants should submit a cover letter with a research statement and CV, as well as a list of at least 3 references as a single PDF file. We will begin considering applications in Jan 2018, but applications will continue to be accepted until all the positions are filled. Baylor College of Medicine is an equal opportunity employer, committed to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, and encourages applications from women and minorities.
