Providence is calling a Perioperative PACU/GI Lab Manager to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
Work directly with physicians, Perioperative management team, staff and business office to assure all aspects of PreOp,Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) ,and GI Lab meet and exceed standards.
Collaborates with the Business Manager to manage and maintain PreOp, SDS, PACU, and GI Lab billing system.
Ongoing analysis, monitoring and strategy development.
Respond proactively to changes that could affect organization performance and clinical outcomes.

Develops and maintains established departmental policies and procedures in PreOp, SDS, PACU, and GI Lab.
Utilizes LEAN principles in daily management and performance improvement.
Reviews and researches cost and revenue reimbursement of procedures.
Manages and coordinates department computer system performance, scheduling accuracy and billing accuracy and timeliness.
Ensures the accuracy of the PICIS GI Lab system including preference cards and pick lists.
Responsible for the integrity of data.
Ensures GI Lab in collaboration with the Business Manager contract rates are up to date and applied accurately to purchase orders and invoices.
Assures accuracy and compliance of all GI Lab charges, billing functions.
Functions as a liaison between departments and the Finance/ Business department.
Develops the capital and operating budget, in coordination with the Perioperative Director and other unit leadership.
Monitors operating budget monthly and provides variance reports to the Director.
Follows through on action plans related to budget performance.
Identifies opportunities to improve market share and develops plans to act on these opportunities.
Initiates and reviews all trials in coordination with the Clinical Managers. Coordinates all department events related to product, equipment, anesthesia supplies and sterilization.
Identifies opportunities for cost-savings and effectively implements action plans to achieve savings. Tracks savings initiatives and reports on their performance.
Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with physicians, hospital staff and external vendors.
Demonstrates an ability to evaluate performance and effectively motivate others to a higher level of performance.
Anticipates disruptive situations and acts to steady the organization. Supervises: PreOp, SDS, PACU, GI Lab personnel and others as necessary.
Develops and/or participates in the development of immediate and long-range strategic plans and goals for surgical services purchasing, implant inventory, surgical equipment purchasing and facility remodels.
Responds promptly and effectively to all UORs related to performance on assigned areas.
Accesses the appropriate chain of command at all times.
Performs all related management duties as required.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California RN license
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Five years realted healthcare management- leadership experience.
Compentency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's preferred in related field.
Three years recent experience in Perioperative services.
ASPAN or related National Nursing Certification preferred.
