The Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager is responsible for the technical and administrative operations of the Non-Invasive Cardiology section, consisting of the Adult Echocardiography, Electrocardiography (EKG), and Cardiac Stress testing laboratories. The Noninvasive Cardiology Manager will function as a member of the UC Davis Heart and Vascular Center management team, and is responsible to assure that all operations are in compliance with budgetary as well as regulatory agency and health system requirements and standards. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the ICAEL accreditation of the Echocardiography Lab as well as a comprehensive continuous quality improvement program for all of Non-Invasive Cardiology. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for effectively promoting the public service, clinical, teaching, and research missions of the UCDHS Cardiology Program.
Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager Qualifications:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS).
Advanced knowledge and skills to perform a full range of adult Echocardiography procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to train technical staff in complex procedures, instruct patients, and communicate effectively with medical staff in individual or group sessions.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively participate in organizational problem solving, staff performance evaluations, and conflict resolution within a multidisciplinary work force environment.
Working knowledge of the technical techniques, indications for and complications of all major non-invasive cardiology procedures, including cardiac stress testing and EKG.
Advanced knowledge of the physiology, symptoms and treatments of CAD, CHF and major dysrthymias.
Analytical skills necessary to develop, manage, and analyze financial data reports.
Organizational skills necessary to initiate and manage organizational restructuring and redesign projects in a professional manner.
Knowledge of and experience with performance improvement.
Knowledge of Title 22, Joint Commission, IAC/ICAEL and UCDMC policy requirements.
Five years recent supervisory experience as a Cardiac Ultrasonographer in an acute care setting.
Prior management/supervisory experience.
