The Cardiac Rehab Clinical Exercise Physiologist provides direct care and guidance to patients and families with cardiovascular disease and those whom are at high risk of developing heart disease. The Cardiac Rehab Clinical Exercise Physiologist assists with the cardiac monitoring of patients, instructs patients on proper use of equipment, and observes and evaluates patients' response to exercise, adjusting as indicated. This individual provides education to the patients and their family members, incorporating knowledge of cardiovascular disease and lifestyle modification. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiologist position reports to the Assistant Unit Manager Cardiac Rehabilitation/ Women's Cardiac Health Program and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or an allied health field.
Masters degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field preferred.
ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist certification (American College of Sports Medicine) preferred.
Current BLS certification current or within 6 months of hire.
