Performs routine and emergency procedures under the authority of the Medical Director. Responsible for delivering Respiratory, Cardiology, and EEG services accurately, within established medical standards for method and technique, and in a manner that is age-appropriate. Participates in activities that help achieve departmental goals and the CHRISTUS mission. Participates in staffing adjustments and interdepartmental activities to assure adequate coverage and seamless care. Cleans and maintains equipment in good working order. Facilitates the organization's implementation and maintenance of the privacy requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Completion of an American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy credentialing program. Successful completion of the NBRC certification or registry examination.
Hospital experience preferred.
Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
Current BCLS card required
Must have or be willing to obtain ACLS training.
Encouraged to obtain NALS and PALS.
Membership in the Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care encouraged. Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care encouraged.
The incumbent of this position is required to possess and demonstrate positive interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate proficiencies for all patient ages.
