Under minimal supervision and according to established protocol, perform diagnostic nuclear cardiology studies to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac disease. Handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Assist in performing patient stress testing as needed

Handle radioisotopes and maintain records as necessary for State of Michigan and NRC compliance.
Perform patient images and prepare them for physician review
Maintain a safe work environment by limiting access to radioactive materials and use
Assist the clerical staff in scheduling patients as needed
Maintain accurate patient records by proof reading all physician reports
Assist in stress testing by administering drugs for pharmaceutical stress following department protocol
Perform calibrations and daily tests on all equipment within our scope of care
Insure patient and staff safety by following OSHA guidelines when handling bio-hazardous materials
Assist in emergency cardiac situations as needed
Follow all radiation safety principles to meet ALARA guidelines for occupational exposure
Maintain documents and records to comply with NRC, ICANL, and State of Michigan Regulations
Projects as assigned
ARRT (N) and or NMTCB BCLS Certification
Internship from an accredited school of nuclear medicine. Minimum of 1 year experience as a nuclear medicine technologist preferred
Graduated from an accredited school of nuclear medicine technology
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Able to demonstrate safe use in handling and administering radiopharmaceuticals Able to work under the guidelines of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and State of Michigan Able to start IV's and administer radiopharmaceuticals intravenously Have good patient care skills Able to work under minimal supervision Have good interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, staff, and physicians Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. Knowledge of computer systems, programs and applications preferred
