The CVL technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for all technical aspects of procedures, including scrub assistance and hemodynamic monitoring (if acting in those roles). The technologist is accountable to the patient, Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director and Chief Nursing Officer.Â Under the direction of the Department Manager and the Medical Director and with approved policy and procedure is responsible for assisting the cardiologist, in the performance of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, peripheral Vascular, and hemo-dynamic monitoring studies (if applicable).Â The CVL Technologist must be willing to cross train and float to other areas of the hospital to meet the needs of the facility.
