CHI Franciscan Health is a nonprofit health system based in Tacoma, Washington with a team of nearly 12,000 doctors, nurses and staff that provide expert, compassionate medical care at eight acute care hospitals and approximately 200 primary and specialty care clinics in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties. This is a transformative time for CHI Franciscan, which is pioneering the way health care is delivered through its leading systems of care covering more than 8,000 square miles and more than 2 million residents of the Pacific Northwest. CHI Franciscan recently announced its planned $540 million development of a state-of-the-art hospital in Silverdale and expansion of its St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, as well as several innovative physician alignment relationships such as that with The Doctors Clinic in Kitsap County that grew its aligned and employed physician ranks to more than 1,100 physicians and providers in the region. In summer 2016, it also launched its new partnership venture with CityMD, the leading urgent care provider in the New York metro area and opened the first urgent care center of its kind in Seattle, with many more planned regionally.
The Regional Medical Director of CHI Franciscan Health’s Women’s and Children’s Clinical Service Line and the Franciscan Medical Group will oversee clinical and operational leadership for the Women’s and Children’s Service Line. Along with a dyad partner or executive director s/he will be responsible for clinical leadership and administering clinical quality with the goal of delivering exceptional clinical and patient-centric care. This is an opportunity to oversee a fast-growing service line, approaching 10,000 deliveries annually, with the goal to become the premier destination for Women's and Children's services in the region.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives for the Women’s and Children’s Health Service Line across all of CHI Franciscan Health, including integration of employed and independent physician groups with Women’s and Children’s Service Line clinical protocols and other quality improvement initiatives.
Responsible for the development and growth of clinical programs within the Women’s and Children’s Service and aspire to national best practices.
In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Regional Medical Director will identify regional and national clinical partners required to expand and grow the service line to further the clinical expertise, quality, and outcomes that are being delivered across the system and broader geographies served by CHI-FH.
Serve on other hospital committees to represent the Women’s and Children’s Service Line as directed by the Executive Division Director and senior leaders.
Provide executive leadership in collaboration with the Executive Division Director in the development and implementation of Women’s and Children’s Service Line annual budgets, including the operating, supply, staffing and capital budgets.
Provide executive leadership in the development of “Center of Excellence” programs within the Women’s & Children’s Service Line that will distinguish the Service Line from other programs in the region.
Serve as co-chair of the Service Line Strategic Leadership Committee (governance committee) and participate as an active member of all Women’s & Children’s Service Line subcommittees.
Work in collaboration with the Executive Division Director and Franciscan Medical Group responsible for recruitment of physicians with unique skill sets to develop new programs for the Women’s and Children’s Service Line. Associated responsibilities include determining Women’s and Children’s Service Line physician resource requirements, working with specialized search resources to identify candidates, screening potential candidates, and participating in the recruitment process. Provide an annual report on the Recruitment and Retention efforts for the Women’s and Children’s Service Line.
Work in partnership with the Executive Division Director to build an integrated culture amongst medical staff and departments to advance quality, safety, patient experience, physician/provider satisfaction and build strategic position.
In collaboration with the Executive Division Director, define and elaborate the strategic goals of the Women’s & Children’s Service Line and ensure they are coordinated with the overall development plan of CHI-FH.
MD or DO degree, preferably 10 years in clinical practice.
Experience in the care of patients, in general or subspecialty practice for a least ten (10) years and demonstrate continued learning in their specialty.
Eligible for faculty appointment for our medical school affiliations.
Leadership or management training is required.
Preferably five years of senior medical group management and leadership experience.
Management certification qualifications (e.g. MMM, MHA, MBA, MPH) are desirable.
