Supervises exercise sessions, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise. Responsible for blood pressure checks on all participants pre, peak and post exercise and watching for abnormal responses.
Assesses participants pre, during and post exercise making appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to participant, other staff, Medical Director, Primary Physician/Cardiologist and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Reports any significant participant conditions (dysrhythmias, abnormal blood pressure responses, changes in participant's status etc) to the physician supervising the program immediately, as well as the participant's physician.
Initiates BLS/ACLS protocols and/or emergency care according to departmental/hospital policy and procedures if necessary.
Assists with the maintenance and proper function of different exercise equipment ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on applicable equipment.
Checks all supplies on a regular basis.
Assists with inventory and stocking of exercise testing room.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, currently licensed to practice Registered Professional Nursing in the state of New Jersey. BSN highly preferred
BLS / ACLS / Telemetry Certifications required.
Specialized Degree or Certification in Cardiovascular Clinical Area such as Coronary Care Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Care, Cardiac Cath Lab. Minimum one year experience as RN in Stress Lab required. Demonstrated ability to perform necessary skills and competencies.
