The Cardiac Device Specialist is responsible for providing direct support as an allied professional to the Electrophysiologist, their fellows, residents, students and all colleagues. This position is also responsible for coordinating scheduling of all required follow-up appointments for patients with cardiac rhythm disturbance, abnormalities and implantable cardiac rhythm management devices.
Graduate of a recognized 1 or 2 year program in Cardiovascular Technology, Electrophysiology or Allied Health Program; or 1 year job related experience required. CVT or CCT certification current or obtained within 12 months of hire required. BLS certification required or obtained within 2 months of hire. ACLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Broad knowledge of the cardiac electrical anatomy and physiology.
Proficient in operating various device manufacturer programmers preferred. 1 year of effective clinical training as a pacemaker technician trainee or apprentice preferred.
Able to sit/walks occasionally; stand constantly. Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frquently; 11-50 lbs occasionally. Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally. Able to reach constantly. Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
