JOB TITLE: Associate Accountant, Revenue Capture Reconciliation LOCATION: Buckhorn Office Building DEPARTMENT: Revenue Capture WORK SCHEDULE: Days (M-F; 7:30AM – 4:00PM, no weekends or holidays) WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) JOB SUMMARY: Develops and implements new reconciliation data extracts, formulating report structure and data elements. Responsible for creation and assisting with reporting tasks related to project completion including analysis, testing, documentation, problem resolution and implementation of solutions as they apply to the organization's strategy. Utilizes Lean Six Sigma techniques. Works closely with all levels of staff and customers to determine reporting needs and requirements. Ensures that requested reports are created accurately and in a timely manner.
Conducts complex and detailed analysis and/or evaluation of department financial and operational key performance indicators. Effectively delivers financial, statistical and operational reporting projects as assigned. Provides detailed written analysis, financial and statistical reports and proposals outlining solutions and enhancements for assigned projects. Audit department charges and workflows and work with assigned departments to resolve all outstanding revenue related issues. Provide support to senior management and staff throughout revenue management during the analysis/auditing process. Provides functional advice or training to less experienced analysts.
Provides documentation and/or reports to support process flow improvements and conduct monthly reviews of outstanding reconciliation issues to Revenue Management staff.
Collaborates with service lines, revenue management and operations managers to formulate improvement strategies/approaches for recognizing revenue. Represents Revenue Management as it relates to revenue integration and reconciliation for new providers and new departments.
Assists with the establishment of training programs and various educational forums for Revenue Capture Reconciliation processes.
Reports to the Manager, Revenue Capture Reconciliation and Director of Revenue Capture. SPECIFIC POITION DUTIES: Serves as point of contact for reconciliation projects and associated departments responsibilities and assists management in the establishment of operational processes.
Identifies billing issues and works with or in conjunction with Revenue Capture Reconciliation management and Revenue Management departments to resolve issues and/or streamline processes.
Communicates the reconciliation trends and complex issues to the Revenue Capture Reconciliation management.
Participates in team meetings, special projects and project initiatives
Works in conjunction with other areas within the revenue management and Geisinger to insure coordinated activities with respect to revenue management needs. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Exceptional quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity.

Proficient with standard Microsoft programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred.
Must be able to present information effectively in both written and oral forms.
Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills; adeptness at assessing needs and setting priorities.
Demonstrates ability to anticipate risk, think analytically and minimize potential problems.
Demonstrates the ability to work well in a team atmosphere fostering a positive, professional relationship with all staff across department and company lines. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required.
OR
Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required. Minimum of two years of accounting or finance experience required.
OR
In lieu of degree, minimum of five years’ experience in accounting, auditing, or finance or may be considered.
Experience within a centralized business office utilizing one or more of the following systems IDX, Cerner, Epic, for a large-scale multi-site or multi-entity hospital system and/or a physician practice plan preferred.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Revenue Management and/or regulatory requirements as they relate to the hospital and professional revenue capture operation components of the revenue management and the effect on overall financial health. Understanding of an integrated delivery healthcare system required. Experience in a multi-hospital system preferred. Experience within a revenue management of similar setting of size or volume preferred.
