You Will Be Responsible For:
Manage and assist with curriculum development for the Research Training & Education Program, working collaboratively with Clinical Research leaders.
Develops short and long-term plans for research training and education needs including planning for resources, comprehensive training programs, new research employee orientation, advanced and professional development opportunities, education activities to enhance adult learning and engagement.
Develop process for evaluating instructor performance, online modules and other methods of training and education. Teach classes and when appropriate, assist in recruiting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within AHRI to teach classes.
Develop, design, write and edit brochures, reports, work instructions, guidance documents and other educational materials for publication and distribution to AHRI researchers, staff, research subjects, Adventist Health System employees, potential research subjects, and the surrounding community.
Collaborate with the Research Compliance Office and the Institutional Review Board to incorporate trends and findings from monitoring and auditing activities and new reportable information into new training initiatives and updates to current training and policies and procedures when applicable.
Assists in the development and/or revision of AHRI Policies, Procedures, Guidance and other instructional documents related to research training and education and may serve as a Policy/Procedure GateKeeper for AHRI Research Services.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Two years of experience working in a clinical research environment, including a stand-alone research site, or a research department, or in research administration such as a centralized research office, or with an institutional review board.
Two years' experience in public speaking and teaching research related material
Knowledge of effective adult learning theory and techniques
Project management skills
Ability to work with senior executive teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to analyze, plan, develop and implement new systems of training and communication for the Florida Hospital Research Institute
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory statutes and requirements pertaining to the development and ongoing management of human subject research
High competency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Knowledge of ClinicalTrails.gov website and registration requirements
Certification through any professional research organization such as the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Research Administrators International (SRA) (preferred)
Five years' experience in clinical research (preferred)
Three to Five years' experience in program management (preferred)
Five years' experience in public speaking and teaching research related material (preferred)
Knowledge of electronic management systems for research, especially IRBNet and/or Clinical Conductor. (preferred)
The Program Manager - Research Education & Communications is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the Research Training & Education Program for the health system. Under the direction of the Research Integrity Director, this position will plan, organize, evaluate, coordinate, and manage the assigned educational program. Assists in creating best practices for optimal team performance and comprehensive communication systems across the expanding Florida Hospital Research Institute (AHRI). Ensures systemic training is developed and implemented throughout all AHRI departments for increasing performance and compliance with various regulatory agencies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
