Childrenï¿½s Hospital of Michigan is seeking a talented Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) for our Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established team performing all aspects of congenital heart surgery, including cardiac transplantation. Duties primarily include pediatric cardiac critical care in the Cardiac ICU and first/second assisting in the Cardiac OR. An experienced provider with a strong background in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric Cardiology and/or Pediatric Critical Care is optimal. Additional experience as an OR assistant in a surgical subspecialty is also an advantage. The successful candidate should have the aptitude, temperament, maturity and stamina to be able to:
integrate as a selfless, empathetic and energetic team member in a high-stress pediatric clinical environment;
master the nuances of congenital cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology;
acquire mature pediatric cardiac critical care skills; and
develop into an adept and intuitive operative assistant.
This is a full-time position with daytime weekend and holiday coverage shared amongst all of the team members and night-call coverage from home only to cover emergencies. There is no in-house night call.
