Work collaboratively with the health care team to ensure both practice and professional standards are identified and maintained in the delivery of patient care and the mutually determined patient outcomes are achieved. Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to patients of all ages with real or potential life threatening illnesses presenting for care. Collaborates with the medical staff and other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Supervises and instructs departmentï¿½s nursing personnel for assigned shift. Ensures that the departmentï¿½s nursing staff complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and that age/developmentally appropriate care is given in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient. Promotes research and excellence in patient care while supporting and facilitating nursingï¿½s professional growth and development and upholding standards of professionalism. Assists and provides input to department head regarding employment interviews, staff performance issues/needs, and employee schedules. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.
Current Florida RN or APRN License Current BLS Certificate Current ACLS Certification Two (2) years current experience in ICU Completion of Basic arrhythmia and 12 lead EKG course Completion of hemodynamic monitoring/ICU course preferred Basic computer skills Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language, ability to speak other language(s) preferred Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition Good time management skills, ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment
