The Patient Care Technician provides direct or indirect patient care as determined or delegated by the Registered Nurse. Examples of this care are activities of daily living, baths, linen change, answering call lights, taking vital signs.
Required Education/Licensing: High school diploma or GED required. One year of higher education or equivalent preferred.
Specialty training as a nurses assistant, and/or medical assistant desirable. Maintains current CPR card and obtains CPI certification within first 90 days of employment
Has ability to follow English written and verbal instructions in order to accept directions from co-workers and speak with patients. Fundamental mathematics.
Required Work Related Experience:
Within 30 days of hire, employee must: complete general and nursing orientation Within 90 days of hire, employee must demonstrate competence in Telemetry Competencies.
Miscellaneous: Technical knowledge includes clerical skills and medical terminology.
