This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position on an inpatient telemetry unit.
Candidates with previous experience as a Monitor Tech will be given priority consideration.
Performs duties related to the cardiac telemetry monitoring of patients and care and maintenance of equipment. Observes monitors without distraction. Possess knowledge of basic medical terminology, basic computer skills, basic telephone skills, English, BLS and high school diploma.
Responsible for the set up of telemetry on physician orders by ensuring proper placement of electrodes, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed.
Performs general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining records in a hospital nursing unit.
Maintains current and orderly chart files.
Records and relays messages.
Prepares routine, confidential, and/or special reports, documents, and records.
Assist with quality improvement activities.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a monitor tech in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
BLS. Completion of EKG course within 60 days of employment.
