Serving as a main gateway for veterans to receive care, the Emergency Department is aligned under Hospital Care Services, and the Incumbent will provide urgent and emergent care to patients who present with acute or chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric problems. The scope of care includes cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, podiatry, renal, EENT, dermatology, neurology, and problems relating to substance abuse and minor trauma.
Providing Health Care for Veterans: The Veterans Health Administration is America’s largest integrated health care system, providing care at 1,255 health care facilities, including 170 medical centers and 1,074 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics), serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year.
