The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) within the Cath Lab at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Department supports both in and outpatient cases. This is a casual position and non-benefit eligible.
The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) within Interventional Cardiology/Radiology. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure and professional practice guidelines. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. The autonomous practitioner is accountable for their own practice, current knowledge, and competence; the RN has authority to control decisions affecting nursing care.
To be successful, the Heart Cath. Specialist RN must be able to:
Assess patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes
Develop an individualized nursing plan of care
Implements nursing interventions based on plan of care
Provide care to patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including: cardiac and radiologic procedures
Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate equipment
Assists with Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology procedures
Evaluates care and patients response to interventionas and expected outcomes
Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
Must have 4 years of current, active CV Lab experience, including critical care and electrophysiology interventional cases
