Clin Informat. & Clin Educ, FT (Bedford Nursing Services)
This position will report directly to the CNO. This person/position is responsible for the co-ordination between the business end users, patients, physicians, employees, families and upline management for all EMAR services; development and application of forms and order sets directly related to the EMAR; transmission of reports; ability to access personal health records and the input of users and customers for the electronic health records. Needs assessment across the lifespan of the hospital community is one aspect of this role. The ability to assess the learning needs; program development; identify and implement education and hands-on learning; consultation; evaluation and documentation and tracking are responsibilities of this position. Tracking of competencies for each unit and up to date evidence-based practice for all nursing and physician roles.
Program Development of key education resources and co-ordination with implementation and monitoring of said resources.
Computer Orientation - education to all levels of staff; MD's, clinical staff, and patients. Coordination of schedules for staff to complete in a timely manner.
Build modules for The Learning Exchange for yearly competencies and as indicated for education purposes
Build out and education for staff for Order Sets - coordinate physician advisory for EMAR changes and best practice.
Acts as liaison between IT; all staff and Medical Staff.
Monitors and facilitates changes to workflow and required documentation for nursing and physician staff as changes are implemented from the governing bodies. This includes tracking for meaningful use, and CMS guidelines.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, etc. oversight, management and tracking of AHA program.
Annual clinical education; ongoing competency oversight and assistance to Directors and Managers i.e. Nursing Skills Fair
Liaison for New Grad programs; Residency development; Preceptor Program Development; Nurse Council Development; student placement and oversight
Collaboration with Nursing Leadership for Charge Nurse and House Supervisor Program development / TCPS for student tracking
Assist with employee evaluations via input from participation; certification and competencies.
Provides education and oversight of all equipment orientation before implementation and any change of supplies including vendor changes.
Growth plan as procedures and patient population changes are implemented - Plan of care changes and education; protocols for post-op care; expanded services; etc...
De-escalation training co-ordination - "Handle with Care"
Cardiac meds; drips; titrations; mixing; medication administration; etc.... co-ordinate with Pharmacy Director and team (Policy/Protocols/Charts - Education)
Serves as a resource to Physicians and all clinical staff
Evaluates and participates in program development; design requirements; technology effectiveness and workflows from program education to end user implementation
Define issues and problems and escalate and/or assist team member in escalation to resolution
Personal growth by expanding product knowledge and integration with other teams for identification and implementation of change
Seeks to understand colleagues' priorities, working styles and develops relationships across all departments and areas.
