It is the primary admitting location for surgical specialties to include: Orthopedic, Urology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery patients. Medical specialties on the unit include: Medicine, Cardiology (post-intervention), and Hospice/Palliative Care. 3-Surgery also serves as the inpatient COVID isolation floor. ***Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized to a highly qualified candidate.*** The Registered Nurse is directly responsible to the designated manager in the assigned area; the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the provision of direct patient care and for the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse Veteran patient population. The Registered Nurse possesses basic knowledge and skills to apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting, which will then enable effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illness, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning and/or support of the dying patient and significant others.
