This is a high-volume complex unit that requires RNs be available to provide nursing care in all phases of care in MPU (Medical Procedures Unit) to include SME (Subject Matter Expert) of Moderate Sedation. The procedures consist of the following: Transesophageal Echocardiogram with Cardioversion, Interventional Radiology, GI & Pulmonary Endoscopy. A $12,000 Recruitment Incentive with 2 year service obligation has been approved for this position PAY SCHEDULE NF45 Duties included, but not limited to: The Medical Procedures Unit RN MPU provides service to GI, Cardiology, Pulmonary and Surgery for Endoscopy Procedures, including the following: Transesophageal Echocardiogram with Cardioversion, Interventional Radiology, GI & Pulmonary Endoscopy. Provides pre & post op care to patients undergoing Interventional Radiology. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care based on age-specific components. Responsible for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Consider all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Make assignments and directs activities of other unit staff, (RNs, LPNs, students, PSAs, other team members).Independently plan and deliver technically competent care to patients with complex needs. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; schedule may vary. On Call after hours, weekends and holidays on rotating basis.
