Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography)
The incumbent functions as a Polysomnographic Technologist in the clinical sleep laboratory, within Ambulatory Care. These individual functions independently to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. In addition, the Incumbent performs standard scoring of sleep staging and other parameters (including respiration, EMG and ECG) and presents the data in an established format in preparation for physician interpretation. Plans procedures and is independently responsible for utilizing his/her own judgement, experience and knowledge in preparing, calibrating and operating all equipment to perform polysomnograms, multiple sleep latency tests and initiate various treatment modalities during studies.
