Overview

St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Tech 3 to join our EEG team.

The Neurodiagnostic Tech 3 is responsible for the administration of electroencephalograms to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnosing brain disorders. The level 3 technologist holds a double registry in EEG and Long Term Monitoring or Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Performs set-up and application of electrodes for electrophysiological monitoring during surgical procedures.
• Performs all modalities of EEG independently.
• Possesses strong, well-developed communication skills.
• Quickly assesses emergencies during prolonged seizures; performs CPR and safety/infection control, electrical safety control, and adhere to specific guidelines in the operating room environment.
• Schedules and performs all clinical neurodiagnostic testing modalities; alerts nurses and physicians promptly during procedures indicating possible life-threatening emergencies (i.e., subclinical status epilepticus).
• Uses neurodiagnostic equipment to include: electroencephalograms, CCTV/EEG, clinical evoked potential modalities and intraoperative neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Operates medical center equipment such as computers, paging systems, telephones, intercoms, fax machines, copy machines, and printers in order to perform the duties of the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 3 years's experience.
• License/Certification: R EEG T, American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification and one of the following certifications:
  • CLTM (Advanced Certification in Long Term Monitoring)
  • CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiological Monitoring.
