Logan Regional Medical Center is currently seeking to hire a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech to perform cardiovascular studies on GE Vivid E9 equipment averaging 7-8 studies per day.Â This is a flexible day shift position in a very team-oriented department working together to achieve continued excellence in patient care and assisting our Physicians with excellent services.Â The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for the following:
Perform imaging and non-imaging evaluations.
Obtains patient history, explains procedures to patient, addresses patientsâ€™ concerns,Â and follows established pre-screening policy and procedure.
Determines appropriate methodology and techniques to use; arranges immobilizationÂ and/or support devices for proper patient positioning; selects appropriate imagingÂ device.
Prepares patient for echocardiography procedures, positions patient as appropriate forÂ prescribed procedure, and assists patients at completion of procedure.
Uses good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for properÂ diagnoses, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnosticÂ interpretation.
Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment asÂ required by the institution.
Monitors the patientâ€™s physical condition during the course of the procedure; reportÂ patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff, supervisor and/orÂ cardiologist.
Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify Physician or appropriate clinicalÂ staff.
Maintain accurate patient documentation, including computerized documentation.
Performs general office duties: maintains stock supplies, assists administrators inÂ determining quantities for purchase, records procedure codes for billing purposes, andÂ scheduling patients.

Graduate of an accredited school with specialization in Cardiac Sonography.
RDCS or RDCS eligible.
Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action when needed.
