The registered nurse at the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

In addition to multiple recognitions, awards, designations and certifications earned over the years, in July 2018, the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital - Tyler was recognized as the first recipient of the Heart CARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence by the American College of Cardiology based on a demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality culture and cardiovascular care through accreditations and ongoing registry reporting. To receive the Heart CARE Center distinction, the team met a set of criteria including participation in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries and targeted quality improvement campaigns designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care.
Requirements:
· Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Minimum requirement is an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
· Must be licensed as Registered Nurse with the State of Texas
· CPR Certification through the American Heart Associate or American Red Cross
· Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting is preferred
